The importance of fuel filters in the fuel system
- Protecting the engine from contaminants: Fuel filters remove particles of dirt, dust and rust from the fuel, which prevents contaminants from entering the engine, protecting it from damage.

How often should fuel filters be changed?
Fuel filters on forklifts and construction machines should be changed according to the manufacturer's recommendations. In practice, this usually means changing them every 500 operating hours or once a year. In harsh environments where machines are exposed to higher levels of contamination, more frequent replacement may be necessary.
